Atmospheric Rivers are relatively narrow regions in the atmosphere that are responsible for most of the horizontal transport of water vapor outside of the tropics (Source). This ARs are well identified in the western coast of the States, for sure in the future more ARs will be identified and their hydrological influence and response.

Marvelous Earth data visualisation

Incredible free earth data visualisation, when I see I feel happier than a kid in a candy store. The Author, Cameron Beccario, made a stuning job, thank you Cameron !!! We can navigate watching the ocean currents, make us sad observing the pollution (North America, China, Indonesia) and mind-blowing seeing the hurricanes. More explanations on his twitter.

…….and the same idea is applied in this flow visualisation for hydrological simulations on Iowa Flood Information System (IFIS), developed by Ibrahim Demir.

Huge ecological measure in the Yellow River (Huang He)

Rare fish released into Yellow River to repair ecosystem.

The adjective “yellow” describes the perennial color of the muddy water in the lower course of the river, which arises from soil being carried downstream. Below are list three satellite images of the Yellow River Delta where we can appreciate the sediments delivery into the see.

Where the Amazon begins ??

Recent Studies establish that the Amazon source is in the farthest upstream of the Mantaro tributary, disputing this honor to the Apurímac tributary.

Segun este trabajo, la cabezera del amazonas se situaría en el afluente Mantato, arrebatandole este honor a su competidor, el afluente Apurímac.
